Southern Relining offers services to the commercial, government and domestic sectors

The methodologies to rehabilitate pipelines using trenchless methods are continually evolving. Lining was the first inception of trenchless technologies and has evolved with the market to remain the preferred options for true trenchless pipe rehabilitation today.

Here at Southern Relining, we offer a complete system of mainline repairs, back to boundary relines, shaft and trap relines and further, offer a total trenchless solution where other technologies may need excavation to reconnect services.

Southern Relining can offer solutions without excavating the strata on most occasions and our products are structural and can remain intact even if the host pipe becomes so dilapidated that it no longer exists.

More about us:

  • Stormwater and sewer lines from 40mm to 1200mm diameter can be assessed via CCTV and a detailed report of the pipe condition prepared. The Wincan VX report provides observational data, from our trained technicians, with images and diagrams to clearly document the pipe condition. The CCTV and report are shared to the client for review and rehabilitation assessment.

    • Identify and quantify issues pre-relining

    • CCTV of mains and stormwater pipes with tractor camera

    • CCTV of lateral line using Rigid camera

    • Provides proof of pipe rehabilitation post-reline

  • Our robotic cutter system can be used in pipes 90mm to 800mm diameter. The robotic equipment combined with clear imaging efficiently performs the basic yet vital tasks of robotic repair and reinstatement of laterals and internal pipeline repairs, eliminating the need to dig up roads and other surfaces and ensuring minimal disruption to traffic and the environment. This system is commonly used for grinding displaced joints, collapsed lines and concrete removal and other intrusions in the line prior to relining repair.

    Used for:

    • Removal of concrete, tree roots, metal, and debris

    • Reopen lateral line connections post-reline

    • Smoke testing

Cutter systems tailored to pipe diameter and fully remote controlled

    • KRE 150-300 cutter

    • KRE 300-800 cutter

    • Dancutter Superflex (90-150mm)

  • We use a two-part epoxy resin technology with a felt impregnated liner. This process can reline seamless continual lengths, or specific sections of pipes, including any lateral connections, junctions, boundary traps and floor wastes in any material in any ground condition. Suitable for pipe diameters 100mm to 225mm.

    • Epoxy resin liner using pull in place technique or inversion

    • Restores structural integrity with a smooth transition to the host pipe, preventing joint weakening and tree root penetration

    • Ideal for rehabilitation of sewer mains, horizontal laterals, stormwater pipes

    • Creates smooth transitions between pipes of varying diameter, pipes with multiple junctions and bends, horizontal or vertical pipes and those with numerous branches

    • Ideal for domestic areas with limited access

    • Restores lateral lines

    • Junction seals with steam cured setting

    • Patch repairs using silicone resin for pipe diameter 150mm to 900mm

  • Our epoxy resin system is also suitable for point/patch repairs on sewer and stormwater lines. If a single joint is compromised in a line we are able to patch the section of pipe or joint to provide a structural repair to the section of pipe so root or infiltration ingress is halted. This also restores structural integrity back to the line where the line may have had some form of fracture. These repairs are typically less than 1 metre length.

  • UV liner technology is based on a flexible tube of glass fibre impregnated with a UV activated reaction resin. Suitable for pipe diameters ranging from 150mm to 1600mm. This liner is suitable for concrete, earthenware and most pipe rehabilitation of stormwater and sewer lines, including circular, oval profiles and box/rectangular culverts. This technology is capable of installation of a single liner up to 200m length. It is frequently used for pit to pit repairs on stormwater and sewer lines.
